Organizing on a Budget

In the world of organization it is easy to get overwhelmed by the options available and how much “everything you'll need” can cost. I'm a firm believer that any organizing plan is only as effective as you are at implementing it, so today I've put together a few ideas that might be a great place to start.

These posts I've pulled together today will hep you get organized in different areas of your home and life without spending a ton of money. There are even a couple ideas here that you might not have thought of!

1. Storage Solutions from Lemons, Lavender and Laundry
   Use locker bins purchased from the Dollar Store, some spray paint and a couple chalkboard tags and you've got an expensive-looking, cohesive storage solution. Many times with a little DIY you can find a solution that is not only effective, but pretty to look at.
2. Menu Planning from Thrifty Little Mom
   This post includes a podcast episode where two mom's discuss effective meal planning to save time and money. Getting organized in this one place in your life can have a direct impact on how in control of things you feel and free up some time for you to get other things accomplished. I loved the suggestion of stocking your pantry with staple items so you always have a go-to option.
3. Box Drawer Dividers from I Heart Organizing
   So many rooms in our homes have drawers… the kitchen, the bathroom, your bedside table and the famous “junk drawer.” Here is a clever DIY solution to organize these drawers and make them look cute using cereal boxes and pretty papers.
4. Bathroom Cabinet Organization from Just A Girl and Her Blog
   Abby used a diaper box, some other boxes she had laying around and wrapping paper from the Target Dollar Spot to organize under her bathroom cabinet. Grouping tools and products and toiletries like this can help save time when your family is getting ready each day. With a little time and things you already have in your home, what is there to lose?
5. Dollar Tree Organization from I Heart Planners – that's me!
   Some of my favorite organization tools come from The Dollar Tree. The little white bins they have come in different sizes and the small ones are 3 for $1!    Here is a post I wanted to share with a little bit of a different take on organizing “on a budget.” Something that we can all work on that doesn't cost a dime is our habits. This post includes 12 habits that people with organized homes have, and number 1 is: “Everything must have a home.” This is a great first step to getting and staying organized, and its FREE. I think you'll really appreciate the other habits too. This post might help you shift your thinking a little bit and give you the push you need to get more organized.
